• Rationale / Needs to be addressed A rapid market growth for battery electric vehicles (BEV) is observed and new market opportunities are expected to emerge, such as emission-free aviation requiring batteries with improved and tailored performance criteria. • Objectives Main objective of “SLIM-FIT” is to establish an advanced battery cell design based on innovative, interpenetrating electrode and separator coatings aiming for a new generation of stable and safe Lithium-Sulfur batteries. • Potential applications Improved batteries for vehicle and drone applications are targeted and will be supported by prototype demonstration. • Impact and potential benefits The electrification of the mobility sector and especially, the development of improved batteries is an emerging market opportunity and companies along the value chain can profit from this growth sector. “SLIM-FIT” is aiming bring innovations to this market und thus, to contribute to a sustainable future and economic growth.Project Details
