The Portuguese institutions must follow the “Regulations governing access to funding for scientific research and technological development projects” (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/projectos/regulamento.phtml.en).

 The financial commitment of FCT to support the 6 topics (basic research, applied research, innovation; TRL 1-8) in this call is EUR 750 000.

Funding rates (approx.)

 The “Regulations governing access to funding for scientific research and technological development projects” apply.

The funding rate to all eligible institutions is 100 % except the companies which requested funding is, maximum, 50 % of eligible costs.

The eligible institutions for funding are described at the “Regulations governing access to funding for scientific research and technological development projects”: higher education institutions and associated research centres; Associated Laboratories; State Laboratories; public or private non-profit institutions (dedicated to R&D); companies.

The funding for the Portuguese participation in a transnational proposal (duration 2-3 years) is limited to:

·         250 000 Euros for a proposal with Portuguese coordination;

·         150 000 Euros for a proposal with Portuguese participation.

National/regional schedule, cut-off dates, deadlines

Each Portuguese institution must sign and stamp a “Declaração de Compromisso” by the Portuguese Principal Investigator as well as by the Head of the Portuguese institution. A scanned copy of the “Declaration of Commitment”, in accordance with the template provided below, must be sent, by e-mail, to the FCT’s contact person until the pre-proposal submission deadline. FCT may request the original document at a later date.
